To develop skilled welding professionals with advanced knowledge of welding processes, materials, inspection techniques, and the ability to perform welding in multiple positions and industrial applications.

Module 1: Welding Fundamentals & Metallurgy

• Advanced welding principles
• Heat-affected zone (HAZ)
• Metallurgical changes during welding
• Types of metals and weldability
• Preheating and post-weld heat treatment

Module 2: Advanced Welding Processes

• Detailed study of:
o SMAW
o MIG (GMAW)
o TIG (GTAW)
• Introduction to other processes:
o Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
o Gas welding
• Process selection based on application

Module 3: Welding Positions & Techniques

• Welding positions:
o Flat (1G, 1F)
o Horizontal (2G, 2F)
o Vertical (3G, 3F)
o Overhead (4G, 4F)
• Pipe welding basics (5G, 6G – introduction)
• Multi-pass welding techniques
• Welding of different joint configurations

Module 4: Welding Defects & Inspection

• Types of welding defects:

• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):
o Visual Inspection (VT)
