Duration: 6 Months

• To explore modern frameworks for measuring and managing organizational performance.
• To develop the ability to integrate financial and non-financial performance metrics.
• To equip learners with skills for benchmarking and external performance comparison.
• To provide an understanding of performance management in both private and public
sectors.
• To prepare learners for roles in strategic management and performance auditing.

Upon completion, learners will be able to:

• Analyze performance using Value for Money (VFM) and other non-financial indicators.
• Execute benchmarking exercises to identify performance gaps.
• Evaluate the impact of reward systems on employee performance.
• Assess corporate failure risk using predictive models.

  • The Performance Pyramid and the Building Block Model (Fitzgerald & Moon).
Module 2: Strategic Performance Indicators
  • Defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Critical Success Factors (CSFs).
  • Environmental and social performance reporting.
  • Linking performance to organizational strategy.
Module 3: External Performance Evaluation
  • Benchmarking: Types (internal, competitive, functional) and processes.
  • Analyzing competitor performance.
  • The role of the public sector: Value for Money (Economy, Efficiency,
    Effectiveness).
Module 4: Performance in Decentralized Organizations
  • Evaluating divisional managers vs. divisional performance.
  • Behavioral issues: Gaming, sub-optimization, and short-termism.
  • International performance management and transfer pricing issues.
Module 5: Contemporary Issues in Performance Management
  • The impact of Big Data and AI on performance monitoring.
  • Corporate failure prediction (e.g., Altman’s Z-score).
  • Integrated Reporting (IR) and stakeholder value.
