Network Engineering Course

Duration: 6 Months

• To provide foundational knowledge of computer networking concepts and technologies
• To develop basic skills in network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• To introduce network devices, protocols, and communication systems
• To prepare learners for entry-level network support and technician roles

Upon completion, learners will be able to:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Networking

• Introduction to computer networks
• Types of networks (LAN, MAN, WAN)
• Network topologies
• OSI and TCP/IP models

Module 2: Network Devices and Infrastructure

• Routers, switches, hubs, access points
• Transmission media (wired and wireless)
• Network cables and connectors
• Network interface cards (NIC)

Module 3: IP Addressing and Subnetting Basics

• IPv4 and IPv6 introduction
• IP address classes
• Subnet masks and basic subnetting
• Default gateways and DNS

Module 4: Network Configuration and Protocols

• DHCP, DNS, HTTP, FTP basics
• Router and switch configuration basics
• Static and dynamic routing introduction
• Wireless networking basics

Module 5: Network Troubleshooting and Security Basics

• Common network issues
• Troubleshooting tools (ping, tracert)
• Introduction to firewalls
• Basic network security concepts
